Hi

Ever since I installed the Asus P4C800 deluxe motherboard I have had boot-problems.

The problems is then I boot the pc-speaker comes with a double beep, and eventhough continue to Windows.

If I refer to the Asus Manual a double beep means "Memory Partion error".

What is that ?

The memory-modul is brand new and is a Kingston 256 mb PC2100 DDR ram.

My configuation is a followes:

Intel Pentium 4 1700 Mhz cpu (with an 400 mhz FSB)
Asus P4C800 deluxe motherboard with latest bios
Kingston 256 mb PC2100 DDR ram

The motherboard supports cpu's with 400 mhz fsb, if you refer to the manual.

I don't know if the old cpu is something to do with my problem. Hope You can help me !

Sincerely
Fred

P4C800 Boot Problem

Hi Fred22!

Your motherboard will also beep once for each USB device you have hooked up. I assume you have TWO USB devices connected?
Unplug one of them and you should only get ONE BEEP. If this is the case then you don't have a problem, just normal operation.
Hope that helps you sleep better!:D

Ah yes, I also had that concern at first but it turned out the beeps are indeed for having 2 USB devices connected! Phew.. :)

Also, if you had an error you'd get a voice POST message (unless you turned it off!) :D
