Hi everyone,

I've been having some trouble trying to install some of my older software (but not *that* old!) on my new Vista PC. It's the same with all of them: I run the Setup program, it opens with the little window in the bottom right saying the program is preparing to run the InstallShield Wizard, the blue percentage bar zooms up to 99%....and then it doesn't do anything else :(

I've tried running the setup.exe with the Program Compatability Wizard and have also made sure to right click on them and "Run as Administrator" even though I am the Administrator...but still no luck.

Any advice would be very, very much appreciated. I could really do with some of these programs on my PC and it's getting very annoying now :(

Hi Laura. . .

Welcome back to the Tech Support Forum - Vista Support!

One item that I would like for you to try -

Download the installable program file to your desktop. Right-click on it and select "Run as administrator".

Should that not help, see if the installation can be done under the XP compatibility mode. I am not sure if the following option will be available for install-modules (usually just for "exe" - executable files)... but let's check anyway. Right-click on installation module, select Properties... and see it there is a "Compatibility Mode" tab... if so select to run under XP.

Good Luck to you. . .
