problem

hi everyone......i m using sata1 maxtor hard disk 250gb....it used it for 3 months...now frm last month i m having problem with it.....it start giving sounds and my pc hangs and screen turned blank.......the only option is to restart my pc.......sometimes it happens 2 or 3 times a day or sometimes it doesn't happen at all for a week....what is the problem.......is there any chance of hard disk failure or problem is with sata cable or sata port on mother board??????

check the cable has not come loose at the drive or the m/b
if it's making a clicking sound d/load the the drive checking utility from seagate and run it on the drive and back up anything you don't wish to lose

The hard drive sounds like it may be failing. Contact the Manufacturer for a replacement. Reload the Operating System and try a data recovery off the old drive.
