Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Possible causes of this error include insufficient security rights or a corrupt local profile. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator.

DETAIL - Error performing inpage operation.

there is a second window that pops up reading:

Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off.

Hello.

Your profile may be corrupted. When you are in the temp login mode can you create a new Admin profile from User Accounts and then login normally using the new profile? You may have to create the new user profile under safe mode. (press F8 after the computer turns on and choose safe mode)

If the above works see this link for some info on how to transfer profile data from your old profile to the new one.

Also, that "Error performing inpage operation" error you are getting may be caused by an error on your hard drive. For good measure, go to your hard drive manufacturer's website and download their diagnostic utility and check the drive for any physical problems.

Are you trying to copy the files directly from one profile to the other? From a quick Google it may be possible to complete by copying the files somewhere else first, say your destkop, and then copy them from the dekstop to the new profile.

Also, if the above doesn't work, can you do it in safe mode?
