I recently purchased a brand new laptop and it came with windows vista home premium, me grown a custom to windows xp and wasn't a fan of vistas ram eating ability, decided to install XP from disk ( legal version ) i reform mated my hard-drive successfully then when it restarted to physically install windows, my laptop restarts, i turn it back on it says SETUP RESTARTING and just turns off. this is a pretty much brand new laptop only about 2 months old.

any suggestions?

P.S i didn't no where to post so i posted in the vista section, sorry.

Wipe the entire drive with KillDisk. Insert your Genuine Vista DVD/ OEM recovery DVD and return the system back to Vista.

KillDisk - http://www.killdisk.com/downloadfree.htm

Make bootable KillDisk ISO CD w/ ImgBurn -

You can, of course, install a full retail copy of XP that you own. But KillDisk must be used 1st. You cannot install an "inferior" OS ontop of a "superior" OS.
