[Unknown Mystery]

I recently bought a Sony DRU-800A 16X Dual Layer +/-RW Internal Drive and installed it without any hitches, but I'm having a problem playing DVDs. I've used the Nero Showtime software that came with the drive, but when I play movies I'll often get a distorted image like when your DVD player needs it's lense cleaned or the disk is dirty. I'm not sure if this is a software or a hardware issue because Windows Media Player seems to play DVDs well, though I'd prefer not to use it as I find doesn't give as good picture quality. I've used some other software and the same problem arouse, so I'm open to suggestions as to what to do.

you can try other good dvd viewing programs such as powerDVD and winDVD, they are very good.
