I recently updated to Win 10 from Win 7 using Microsoft update all went well, however I have started to have problems with my mouse connection. When I boot up the mouse appears to be ok the arrow moves around but when I click on a icon on the desktop a hand appears and nothing is active, it is the same with the start button I am unable to open anything up, I have checked in the Device manager and nothing is flagged I have also checked that all the USB drivers are up to date. I have tried the mouse in all the USB connections on the computer and none are active. I have tried a different mouse that works on my other computers and still the same problem. The strange thing is when I power down the computer from the start button as this is the only way I can close down the computer and re- boot the computer the mouse works perfectly. I have done this several times and it works every time, anyone have any idea what the problem is. System specs are Win 10 pro 32 bit 500GB hard drive Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2H twin core processor.

Further to the above post problem with mouse. I managed to resolve the problem with a BIOS update and a clean install of Win 10.
