Hello,
I have a Gateway 5028GT with an integrated Nvidia 6100 graphics, 1mb ram and:
AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 dual-core processor 3800+
* 2.0 GB
* 2000 MHz front side bus
* L2 cache: 512 KB x2
The built in graphics on the motherboard failed. So I acquired a used Nvidia 7800GT and installed it. I installed a gaming 600 watt PSU for extra power. This card later failed (after 4-5 months) when I started no longer getting a signal to the monitor.
I just installed another card, like new that I bought, an EVGA e-GeForce 9500GT 1GB DDR2 PCI-Express Video Card with 2 x DVI-I, 1 x TV Out.
Originally, I didn't get a signal to the monitor upon installation and after starting it the 3rd time it worked fine.
I recently had to reboot my computer after steam (DOD source) locked up and now the same problem is happening: no signal to monitor. I have checked the cables and re-installed the card but still the same problem.
Please help with any information you may have. Thanks.
