Hello I am having a small problem with a computer I have just built here are the specs.

asus m2v am2 motherboard with amd 64 sempron 3500 +
160gb maxtor sata harddrive
256mb xfx gf 7300gs pciex graphic card
2x512 corsair mem
liteon dvd rw
400w power supply

The problem I am having is when I boot up after post a error message appears saying that "there is no disc found" but after a few seconds it boots up ok and seems to run well. The concern I have is when I installed windows xp first the system was not stable so I reinstalled thinking the bios was looking for a floopy I disabled that in the bios, after the second reinstall the error mesage still appears but the system seems stable the dvd rw jumper is in the master slot and I am at a loss. Can anyone help me thanks.

Can you post the EXACT error message that you are getting?

I would also be sure that you have not enabled a USB boot or a network boot in the bios. Make sure that your boot order is Cd-Rom and then Hard disk.

Ooooo good info, dai. You may be on to something.

bowlsmad - do you get this error if you simply do a "reset"? We want to see if the error message is only displayed during a cold boot.

Thanks for all the help guys but I think the problem is that this board has a marvell 88se6121 sata connection and I have not connected a hard drive to this. I will disable it in the bios and hopefully this will solve the problem as I say the system is running ok but it is a bit annoying this message popping up, I will let you know how i get on. Thanls again.
