Problem with email account

I'm having problems with my email account after adding AVG and Zonealarm to my computer. I have a DSL connection.
This is the message I get " The server responded with an error acc:pITEL,server mail pitel.net Protocol POP3, Server Response; ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server, cannot connect to the mail server port:110 secure (ssl) No, server Error: 0x800ccc90, Error number 0x800ccc90"
Thanks for any ideas on how to fix this.

Hi newbie30...

it may be an idea to try disabling AVG email scanning to see if that helps solve the problem??
