My dvd ram drive just stopped reading DVDs one day. It still reads audio and data CDs, but not DVDs. I tried uninstalling the dvd drive and rebooting. No luck. I also tried reinstalling the drivers for this model (A10) off of the Toshiba website. Again, nothing.

Any thoughts as to what this might be?

Have you done a lens cleaning? DVDs use a much more focused beam that can be very easily blocked by small bits of dust.

Do you have a DVD that you can boot with? Try that as well just to see what happens.

I haven't tried cleaning the lens. How do I do that?
Also, what is a disk I can boot with?
