Hey all,

I have starting using a second hand Toshiba laptop with a Windows Vista operating system.

When I got it everything worked fine:

I uninstalled the Norton Anti virus software on it and install the free AVG anti virus.

I also installed the microsoft office 2010 pack.

However I turned on the computer today and inserted a USB data key and the computer regonized it initially but then when I went to my computer I couldn't find it. Then I realised that the networks adapter had stopped working and I could no longer connect to the internet.

After a bit of fiddling around on the help bar I tried to update the drivers for the RTL8187B Wireless 802.11b but this did not solve the problem - the update simply said the best driver was already installed.

I have also tried a systems restore but this didn't work either.

Does anyone have any ideas for on how I can solve this issue??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Best wishes,

Dan

Hi Dan.

This looks very hardware related to me - I say that as your wireless network receiver is also USB.

Bare with us and I'll have someone from the Hardware Team take a look at this for you.
