Recently my second hard drive, which had been working just fine stopped working. In explorer, there are drives D, E, and F. E and F were always the two cdrom drives, and D was the second hard drive. Now drives D and F are the two cdrom drives and E, which has a cdrom drive icon beside it, is "not accessible." My guess as to how this came about is that the system overheated (it wouldn't even boot for a little while, but it boots fine now), or the power supply was bad. I replaced the power supply and I still can't access the second hard drive. Also, I seem to be unable to hook up a Smartmedia USB card reader. Please help.

Welcome to TSF:

Does the drive in question show up in the bios listing during start-up ????

if it does try the manufacturers hard drive diagnostic on the program / also try disconnecting the cd-rom drives and do a reboot / it may have just lost the order of things during the power outage ??

post back and let us know ???? please dont hesitate to ask more questions

regards

joe
