problem remotely starting pcanywhere using netsvc

I have a remote Windows XP site who's PCA program has stopped. I login via remotedesktop to restart the service. I issue the following command:

netsvc awhost32 \\10.10.10.1 /start

The message I get back states "service is pending start on \\10.10.10.1"

.... but a query shows the service did not start. Does anyone know how to make this work. When we support our remote sites we like to "lockout" the local user when we have to do something, thus PCA is a good choice. Trying to talk the local users through restarting the service can be a real problem sometimes... and a reboot is not a good solution, so I need this to work. Does anyone know why this is not working? Possible solution?

thanks

Have you tried using "net start xxxx" ?
yes I have.... I have also tried the "sc" command with no luck. One thing that I did not mention is that the netsvc.exe command was laid down a remote test machine by itself. It was not loaded as a part of the Resource Kit. I am not sure if that is causing a problem. But basically I get the same results from netsvc, sc and net start.

Also the version of PCA on the remote side is 11.01
