I use a lot of macros for shortcuts (I have over 50 of them) and have found a problem naming them. I typically give them a 2 or 3 letter name so that they are easy to remember.

However, when I name a new macro it gets saved in the NewMacro module but if I try to save some of the new macros under their own module name (so that they are easier to find later), I get an error message as follows:
Name conflicts with existing module, project, or object library.

Is there a way around this problem and what I am I doing wrong?

Are you cutting & pasting the subs, or just copying them? If you're just copying them, you'll end up with conflicts due to the duplicate names.

This occurs even when I have created a new macro in Word itself using keystrokes or when editing new or old macros and saving them with a unique new name.
