I am trying to load XP Pro from a disk.
The original apparently was corrupt and had many problems transferring files to my new Vista PC which included not being able to access my CD drive to copy files.

The problem is;

The setup works until it gets to the banner "Windows is now starting up"

At this point it stops without windows loading on my display.

Can you help?

The problem is with your CD drive go ahead and format your c:\ drive and then make a copy of XP setup files which is
CD DRIVE\i386\*.*
copy all the files from i386 and then try to install.
