I can access the network just fine on my inspiron 1200 after start up but when it's woken up from standby mode it says i have excellent signal but won't connect to the internet. I've tried an ip renewal but that doesn't fix the problem does anyone have any ideas?

Do you know what kind of network card you have? I had a very similar problem with a laptop that had an Intel ProSet 2200BG internal wireless adapter. It seemed like a few other people had encountered the same problem, but there was no known solution at the time.

Check out this thread, and see if that sounds familiar! I posted that last fall after experiencing what seems to be the same issues you're having.

I believe I tried that MS fix that's mentioned, but it didn't seem to do the trick, as I recall.
