do you have the software downloaded to your computer?

open it then make sure you have the printer selected

go to control panel
hardware and sound or printer
devices and manager
then right click it and select as default printer

make sure that it is connected to the PC usb or parallel port. Then install drivers and software that came with the printer. May need to go to the manufacture website to download drivers if you do not have the CD.
