If there is an official Canon driver for that printer (and OS), that would be the suggested driver to use. However, the same basics apply to generic or universal drivers (ie: they need to officially support the OS on which they are being used).
Print spooler keeps crashing Win7

I've a network Canon printer with a Uniflow Universal PCL XL Driver, few of the clients facing a problem while print on this printer that cause a spooler to be crashed on their computers. only with windows 7 haven't received any complain from XP users. on the other hand, nth happens if print on another printer.
