I have a Compaq Evo runnning windows XP pro. The primary master HDD is a 20G 5400 rpm. If I install a 40G 7200 RPM as a primary slave would this cause any conflicts? I am pretty sure that it won't, but I'd hate to buy something like that and have it not work.

I have a 7200rpm 60g hard drive as master and a 5400rpm 30g hard drive as slave and have no problems with it. So I don't see no prolems with you doing that.

I concur with drifters...just make sure to hook up everything correctly before you boot up..
