If you had to jiggle it to get it to work, most likely that's a physical issue with the jack.

Make sure the jack is not bent or pressing on anything while it's charging, and the laptop is resting in a way so it doesn't interfere with the plug in any way. When plugging it in, just go easy with it and don't rip the plug out by the cord, use the little casing that houses the connector. you probably do that already, so i wouldn't worry to much about it.
