I currently have a 250 watt psu. I'm wanting to upgrade to a higher wattage psu. If all the connectors on the higher wattage psu are the same as the 250 watt psu, Will the higher wattage psu work. Or do I have to worry about frying the MB or any other components?

You can always use a higher wattage power supply. It will not hurt your components. Using an underpowered supply (less wattage, current) can do damage. Have a look at this article to help you choose which supply you should get. A power supply is one of the most important components in you computer and should be of high quality and the proper rating.
