Power Supply to a Laptop

1590 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  jonjacobik
greetings to all

We own a compaq laptop model series cm2130 and recently moved from the US to aussie. Unfortunately the power here is 240 volts 50 hrtz instead of the US power. Is there any internal switch or way to modify the compaq to enable us to recharge it off the local mains?. It has really been an excellent unit and we would hate to have to get rid of it.

Thankyou for your help

There are many cheap power converters available, have you looked at that option?
Check the fine print on the power supply - that block on power cord, if it says 100-240VAC, replace the AC side with an appropriate plug / cord for your Aussie outlets.

If not, check out www.asiaspirit.com/electric.htm
