I am looking for a power supply for my new system. I will be using the Athlon XP 2100 CPU. Do you guys think a 300W power supply is good enough? What about for a P4 system? What do you guys think for future CPU's? I also will be suing a Geforce4 Ti4400 video card.

I use a 300 in my system and it works just fine. Cant really say yes or no for sure, it will work for now, but as for the future who knows.

300 will work for- 1 agp 4X vid, 1 HD, 1 CDrom. Any more than that and I would go bigger.

10 years ago 175W was state of the art. Power suplies are cheap and I would go 400w min if you expect to add anything.

Well I don't think that will be sufficient. Go here http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/psu-03.html this isn't bad price also if your going to have many fans, nice to have the power. See what others think. Welcome I am new here 2

whoops, after reading what Jamman said I double checked my system that I thought had the 300 in it and was wrong it does have a 400. Sorry about that, but the 300 would still work for now, Id go 400 that way you don't have to worry about it.
