I recently removed my laptop screen, as I was having issues with it, and I hooked it up to an external monitor which was working fine. There was a ribbon cable leading from the actual computer to the monitor which I left and it had some exposed wiring. I randomly heard a pop and saw a spark and my computer shut down with no warning and will not boot up now. There is no battery charging light when i plug in the AC cord.

Any help would be appreciated.

By leaving the wires exposed they may have came into contact and possible shorted the

motherboard (should have left LCD connected and connected monitor to vga port)

What model laptop?

Unfortunately there is no easy way to tell what component is causing the issue without

having working/good components to test.

I would suggest stripping down to the motherboard and inspect for damage.
