i was recently given a ibm thinkcentre pc (sister inlaws office being updated)but it has no power cable or mointor ,can anybody tell me what power cable i need and also can i connect it somehow to my laptop for extra memory ?

I hope you meant storage, because "extra memory" isn't possible.

As for the thinkcentre pc:

Power cable (from PSU to mains) - Options

Also, you will need a monitor for the thinkcentre PC, to be able to configure it and access its contents.

Power cables for most PC's and monitors are standard. You can buy them from most any electronics or computer store.

And yes, you will need a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

If all you want is "more storage", all of this is a huge waste of time. Simply remove the HDD, install it into a external enclosure, and connect it to your laptop via USB.
