Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 (desktop) with Vista Home Premium. Until the other day, when I pushed the power button to start the PC, it turned blue and the PC went through the boot-up process. Now, it turns yellow and nothing happens unless I do more. So I push and hold the power button until it turns off. Then, I push the button a bit more strongly and it turns blue and boots.

My first thought was that the power switch for this 2008 PC is getting old and that I may become unable to boot at all. So I have decided to just let it go into sleep mode for now rather than turning it off for the day.

Any ideas on solving the yellow light issue?

Thanks for that link.

Before posting my problem to this site, I did a quick online test of my hardware at the Dell site and passed. I then began a much more extensive test, but it was taking too long, forcing me to stop.

Your link gives me better ideas of what to have Dell test online. So I will try again.
