I've been doing a lot of moving hardware recently (just got a new case), and booted up, then restarted a few times later with no problems. one time, though, out of the blue, I tried to boot up and my computer got stuck at the motherboard logo screen. I tried turning off the computer, clearing the CMOS (with a button on the back), unplugging all USB devices I had except my keyboard, and started it up. I got the motherboard logo, then a POST error message with a couple options I didn't really understand, but I chose the first one and my OS started up. I tried this again with the same results. any idea whats going on or how I can fix it?

log into bios and look for an load optimized setting or load failsafe setting and select it and see if problem goes away if not list exactly what error or halt screen says and alsolet us know what hardware you are running ie motherboard psu graphics card.

at this point I'm not receiving an error message anymore. just, to get past the motherboard's logo I have to unplug my USB devices (printer, iPod Touch, mouse, and 2 flash drives, which are all on a USB hub) except my keyboard, which seems irrelevant. is there a way in the BIOS to disable those devices or possibly that specific USB port I have the hub plugged into until the OS loads? should I try unplugging one device at a time to identify the problem?

specs:
GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard
Intel i7 930 processor
2x2 GB DDR3 RAM
Radeon HD 5670 IceQ 128-bit GFX card

Did you experience any problems before moving the hardware to the new case?
Did you use a standoff for every Mobo mounting hole?
Brand & Model of the PSU?
What is the First Boot Device in the Bios?
Does the Bios have an option to disable booting from external devices?
