Recently my Windows 98 SE computer with IE 6 began failing to populate new IE windows that are created after clicking on an appropriate link.

Is this a familiar problem with a known explanation and solution?

I have tried re-installing IE, looking for a culprit in the IE settings and even re-installing Windows without success.

If you're referring to not putting up all the graphics, this has been a problem with IE6-SP1 for as long as I remember.

Thanks for your response.

The new windows do not contain anything - neither text nor graphics. They just stall immediately after the outer frame is displayed.

Naturally I was hoping I would not have to go back to square one.

If I do this, can I re-instate an archive of the Windows\Profiles afterwards? What else is worth archiving and re-instating afterwards?
