HELP!
My laptop sat unactive for a week (or so) and lost battery power. Now when turning it on (after plugging in and charging battery) I can not get beyond the please wait screen. I have tried booting in safe mode and have tried last known good configuration. Still same result. It will go to Please Wait....the circle will turn.....it will flash black screen (like it is attempting to boot maybe) and then back to Please Wait.

My last resort is to try the factory recovery disks, but I am looking into other options so as not to lose pictures that may not be backed up.

Hi and Welcome to TSF!

Do you have the Windows Vista CD?

If so boot from your Windows Vista CD and launch Startup Repair.

The only disk I know of says TOSHIBA RECOVERY and APPLICATIONS/DRIVERS Satellite A200 Series. Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit SP (there are 2 disks). Vista came loaded, so I don't know if I should have another disk or not.
