I am useing DSL modem USB .
& sometimes he gets disconected the problem is
that windows dont know about it.
so the "connection tray" get stuck.
does anybody know why?
or at least can tell me how can I shut down the "connection tray"
without rebooting the computer?
because I cant reconnect to the internet (the computer is sure that he is connected) until I restart the computer.
there is no way I can do it with the task maneger.
maybe with the command line ?

If you have the option, I STRONGLY suggest you switch to Ethernet connection to the DSL. USB is frequently problematic for network connections, I avoid it like the plague.

As far as this problem, have you checked to see that you have the latest drivers for the modem? Have you removed the modem, rebooted, and then re-installed it to see if that sorts it out?

When DSL first came to my area the modem driver for my ISP was horrible and kept disconnecting too. I downloaded the universal driver from the modem's website and never had problems again.

first of all I wold like to say THANK YOU ALL for the help.
the problem isnt really with the modem the problem is with
the connection tray app (I know because when i shut doun the computer he is telling me that there is a problem with "connection tray") I didnt try the 1st selution I will do so when it will happen again.
if the problem will not be solved I will consider replasing the modem.
b.t.w I have : uninstalled & reinstalled, replased driver, patched,
unpluged repluged, and so on 10000 times.

thank you all again for your support.
