Hello bergamot welcome to TSF

Before we start on the fix, Could you please explain what you mean by this
i have cc cleaner and cannot get rid of two ares backup (i think that what they are ?)

BroadJump - I see you have BroadJump on your system. This is the newer name for BroadJump Foundation Client (BJCFD) from BroadJump.com, now Motive. The software collects information on your Internet activity and sends it to your ISP so that your ISP can serve you advertisements related to the type of sites you visit. I suggest that you carry out the fixes indicated below but I would approach your ISP as soon as possible and ask them how to remove it and why they installed it in the first place. Do not attempt to uninstall the program yourself.

======================================================

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad in order to assist you when carrying out the following instructions. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. Windows XP's search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that Search system folders, Search hidden files and folders, and Search subfolders are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Open Hijack This and click on Scan. Check the following entries (make sure you do not miss any)

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {00A6FAF6-072E-44cf-8957-5838F569A31D} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinLogin] win32x.exe
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://bar.mywebsearch.com/menusearch.html?p=ZS

Please remember to close all other windows, including browsers then click Fix checked.

Search for & delete ... using Start> Search... the following file(s), if present:

* Win86.exe
win32x.exe

Download Trend Micro™ Anti-Spyware (by clicking the "Scan and Clean your PC" button).
  • Double-click the tmas-web-scan.exe icon
  • It will say "Loading TrendMicro definitions".
  • Click "Start Scan"
After it's done scanning, click "Scan Results"
  • Make sure all items found have a check next to them, then click "Clean Threats Now".
  • Click Exit.
Reboot your computer. I then need you to repeat the same procedure above again... using the TrendMicro tool. I need the log from the second scan/clean...NOT the first...as this will contain what’s left in the system.

In place of the TrendMicro icon will be a text file called "Antispyware.log", please double-click that log and copy the entire contents and paste them here.

Please post a fresh
Hijack This log,
Antispyware log

so that we can check if your system is clean.

Hi bergamot

Please don't try to uninstall broadjump by your self. One of the problems with broadjump is that when you try to remove it you may lose your Internet connection. Please call the support line for your Internet service provider, ask them for removal instructions, tell that you have no wish to have it on your PC.

Where is the shortcut to ares?

Also please provide the antispyware log I asked you for, I cant clean your pc of infection until I get it as well as the HJT log.

kind regards

Hi beramot,

your log looks clean but I want to make sure,

Please carry out the following instructions.

Download Lavasoft's Ad-Aware & it's recently updated plug-in - VX2 Cleaner

Install both using the default options & then update Ad-Aware with the latest definitions.
Click on Add-ons in the lefthand column & select - VX2 Cleaner V2.0
Click Run Tool >> "OK"
If something is found, click "Clean" as in the directions given.
Click "Close", and exit Ad-Aware.

Open Ad-aware and close ALL other windows.
  • Click on the ‘Gear’ icon (second from the left at the top of the window) to access the preferences/settings window:
    • In the [General] window make sure the following are selected in green:
      • Under [Safety]:
        • Automatically save log-file
      • Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal
      • Safe Mode (always request confirmation)
    • Under [Definitions]:
      • Prompt to update outdated definitions - set the number of days = 7
  • Click on the [Scanning] button on the left and select in green:
    • Under [Driver, Folders & Files]:
      • Scan Within Archives
    • Under [Select drives & folders to scan]:
      • choose all hard drives
    • Under [Memory & Registry]: all green
      • Scan Active Processes
      • Scan Registry
      • Deep Scan Registry
      • Scan my IE favorites for banned URL’s
      • Scan my Hosts file
  • Click on the [Advanced] button on the left and select in green:
    • Under [Shell Integration]:
      • Move deleted files to recycle bin
    • Under [Logfile Detail Level]: all green
      • include addtional object information
      • DeSelect - include negligible objects information
      • include environment information
    • Under [Alternate Data Streams]:
      • Don't log streams smaller than 0 bytes
      • Don't log ADS with the following names: CA_INOCULATEIT
  • Click the [Tweak] button and select in green:
    • Under [Scanning Engine]:
      • Unload recognized processes during scanning
      • Scan registry for all users instead of current user only
    • Under [Cleaning Engine]:
      • Let Windows remove files in use at next reboot
    • Under [Log Files]:
