Yesterday I noticed an overabundance of popups and security toolbar 7.1 installed on my IE with my homepage set to some savetheinformation.com site- and all kinds of new unfamiliar programs on my computer [winable ?]. Anyways, I did a search for WinAble and sent all the files to my recycling bin and immediately- I lost my taskbar and cannot access my program files. My desktop items have ALL disappeared too. Im afraid if I restart my computer it won't come back to life. I'm in the process of doing a [EXTREMELY slow] Trend Micro scan and a panda scan at the moment. Anyways, here's my Hijack This log, and keep in mind that I am very limited with what I can do :sigh:

Hello AmyMC and welcome to TSF,

This will require more than one round to properly eradicate. Please stay with me until given the 'all clear' even if symptoms seemingly abate.

Please print this page for reference as you will not have any browsers open while you are carrying out portions of these instructions.

It's IMPORTANT to carry out the instructions in the sequence listed below.

Download Combofix from any of the links below, and save it to your desktop.

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop** (even though your desktop has disappeared)

--------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Disconnect from the internet.

2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

Open Task Manager by pressing all 3 of these keys Ctrl Alt Del

Look to the top left of the dialog box and click 'File'>New Task (Run...)

Type in the following (careful, be sure to include the quotes around the text):

"%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe"


Click OK and ComboFix.exe will beging to run. Follow the prompts.

• When finished, it will produce a report for you.
• Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt along with a new HijackThis log so we can continue cleaning the system.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall
