Disconnect the front panel audio ports at the motherboard header. Plug your speakers into the green rear port. Are the speakers detected in the Realtek Audio Manager application?

Check your Motherboards Manual to see if it supports Jack detection, ALC 850 should support up to 5.1 sound on the rear panel.
As mention, Realtek Audio Manager should give the option to select speaker settings.
