hi i hav a little problem,

i will list my pc specs...

amd athlon xp 2600+ (2.13ghz)
foxconn 600A01 mother board
768mb of ddr ram
geforce 6800GT graphics card
500 wat power supply
Maxtor 6Y120L0 Hard drive
1 52x LG cd-rom drive
1 32x10x40x LG cd wrighter

ok... my problem is that when i play a game such as day of defeat: source in 1024x768 resolution in max graphics (wich my graphics card can easily handle). ill start off and the graphics will b great with amaising fps but when i go round a corner into the battle where all the stuff going on, my fps plumet loads to like 15fps.
why is this? do u kno? this happens in battlefield 2 as well
i apreashiate the help :)

Im sorry to say that that fps is about right for what you are trying to run. DOD:S is very cpu dependent and a 2600xp is not powerful enough to run it on max settings with much better fps than that. Your 6800GT could handle the load if it had a better processor. A better ram setup might help some as well. 768MB of ram can not be configured to give you the max performance. You want to have your ram setup to work with the whole duel channle thing. Idealy 2x512MB of non budget ram.

Also keep in mind Dod:s seems to average maybe 10fps less than C:SS
