Hi all, been a while since I've posted here, but I'm about to start tearing my hair out over this!

So, I'd like to be able to access a few hard drives connected to my PC (running win7 ultimate) from my macbook (OS X 10.6.4).

To summarise:

  • Both computers connect to a wireless network, the macbook with the built in airport, and my PC with a belkin USB adapter.
  • Both computers are configured to join the default "WORKGROUP" workgroup
  • The mac is set up to access samba shares (and has accessed them in the past from said PC)
  • Network discovery is turned on in windows 7
  • Firewalls have been disabled at both ends to no avail
  • In windows local security policy settings; "LAN manager authentication level" is set to "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated" and 128bit encryption is disabled under minimum session security
  • Tried resetting, leaving, and creating homegroups in windows 7, but this was probably futile as OS X doesn't use homegroups.
  • Both computers connect to the network using DHCP, the mac has an address reserved in the router, it's always 192.168.1.5 the PC connects with DHCP and has an IP assigned every time (It's almost always 192.168.1.2)
  • None of the computers on the network can ping each other
  • My network goes:

    Code:
    {ADSL router}---{wireless-N access point}---my pc
                                             ---girlfriend's laptop
                                             ---{airport express}---PS3
                                             ---macbook
I can't say with any certainty, but I think the last time I had everything working and seeing each other on the network was before I added the wireless N access point. It's configured solely as an access point, the ADSL router still handles DHCP and such. My IP range didn't change, the access point in this case has the IP 192.168.1.254, and the gateway IP (ADSL router) is 192.168.1.1.

I don't know what to do now, I've been through everything I could possibly think of, I hope someone out there can help!

TIA!

Fixed this in the end by disabling wifi protected setup in my access point's config (Belkin F5D8236-4 v2). There was no point for it being enabled as I'd already set up WPA2 manually.
