Hey all, I have alot of Problems with my computer
Ill name all of them, if you have any suggestions, post them, Thanks guys!

-Task bar/Start bar is gone, i cant drag it up, and it is not on lock
-No sound in Speakers ( That isnt really that bad, but sorta annoying )
-Windows istaller is not istalled properly and needs to be re-installed to be used again ( Thats what it says when i try to install something. )


Not ALOT of problems, not all of them.
But i know will some come strolling around my way some time soon..

By the way, I do NOT have the Re-install discs that have come with my computer.

I should have kept them but i guess i was just REALLY happy i was gettin a new computer

Please keep your questions in this thread, this is a forum and it can take some time before you get answers, no need to send PM's to the staff.

Can you access the task manager if you press ctrl+alt+del ? If so you can use the file => new task menu to run commands.

Yes i can, and by the way if i need to copy n paste that hole log, i cant really do that either cuz the virus has taken away the copy n paste, the start bar, the clock, it just sits at 12:00 pm

You can try and open the control panel by opening task manager and then click on new task. Then type "control.exe" w/o quotes.

As far as the start bar, if you go over to the processes tab do you see "explorer.exe" running? Have you tried typing "explorer.exe" into the run box and see if that brings the taskbar back up?

Also, can you get online but not download virus scanners? If yes, they may be blocking your access to known antivirus sites to prevent removal.

Yes explorer.exe is running on Task manager.

ok ill try the Control.exe thing.

Double click to run and hit Yes when prompted. Let me know if this brings the taskbar back for you.

Umm, When i click that link it just comes up with Some text, it doesnt do

When i say i cant download Anti-virus programs,
Is like when it starts to install it gets close to the end and when it does, its like,

Right click and choose Save Target as. Once it's done downloading click "Open" and then answer Yes to the prompt to add data to the registry.

I've seen explorer go to my documents one or two times. I'm not sure yet if that is something to worry about.

Also, try downloading AVG free antivirus from my signature. It should run on most systems so if you get the error it may be caused by your spyware and not your system.

Lastly, if you haven't already, please click on the 5 steps link in my signature below and follow them. The malware team will help you out removing any spyware.

Might be that a simple repair install will put things in order for you. Boot with your XP CD in and choose the repair option. This will replace bad copies of system files while leaving your installed programs intact. After theat there are other programs which can alleviate specific problems. JL.

Thing is i dont have the CD's, My mom put them somewere

Not a good scenario. This is a copyable CD and you are allowed to make a legal backup copy. Try to convince her to let you make one to use. Otherwise, your setup sounds too messed to revive by any easy and straightforward methods. Bummer

-I did the Right click that link thing, and it didnt do anything

-Ive tried Downloading AVG thingy ALOT of times, it STILL does not work. Something is REALLY wrong.

When i say "Put them somewere" i mean Lost them
And my disc tray doesnt work, it opens n closes but it wont run anything
