This particular problem was resolved for a couple of weeks but now a similar problem is occurring... ie7 redirects to a message telling me I have a threat of a virus attack and should download winpc antivirus. I can't run any programs like dds, malwarebytes etc. I tried to run kapersky online scanner as asked in the old thread but it always freezes. Also when I start the computer it often restarts and eventually a message comes up saying windows has recovered from a serious error. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi

Please rename DDS file to something.scr and try running it.

If no success, please try following:

• Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
• Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
• Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
• Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<<will be maximized) and info.txt (<<will be minimized, if not you'll find it in c:\rsit folder)
