Have HijackThis fix these entries:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O16 - DPF: {15AD6789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://static.windupdates.com/cab_a...bridge-c420.cab

Then,
  1. Go to Start> Run - type cleanmgr (this starts Windows DiskCleanup)
  2. Select Drive C: & click the 'OK' button
  3. Select the following options:
    • Temporary Internet Files
      [*] Recycle Bin
      [*] Temporary Files
  4. Click the 'OK' button

Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan
  1. Click Scan your PC & a 'pop up' window shall appear. *ensure that your pop up blocker doesn't block it
  2. Click Scan Now
  3. Enter your e-mail address & click Scan Now ...begins downloading 8 MB Panda's ActiveX controls
Begin the scan by selecting My Computer
  • If it finds any malware, it will offer you a report.
  • Click on see report. Then click Save report
Post the contents of the report in your next reply

*You needn't remain online while it's doing the scan but you have to re-connect after it has finished to see the report.
*Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan

Download Trend Micro™ Anti-Spyware (by clicking the "Scan and Clean your PC" button).
  • Double-click the tmas-web-scan.exe icon
  • It will say "Loading TrendMicro definitions".
  • Click "Start Scan"
After it's done scanning, click "Scan Results"
  • Make sure all items found have a check next to them, then click "Clean Threats Now".
  • Click Exit.
Reboot your computer. I then need you to repeat the same procedure above again... using the TrendMicro tool. I need the log from the second scan/clean...NOT the first...as this will contain what’s left in the system.

In place of the TrendMicro icon will be a text file called "Antispyware.log", please double-click that log and copy the entire contents and paste them here.

Post these logs in your next reply:

Hello Jill21,

The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link doesn't work) and install it. Do not run it yet.

Download KillBox http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/KillBox.exe.

Reboot into Safe Mode.(tapping F8 or F5)

Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Ctrl-C:

C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\MediaGatewayX.dll

Start KillBox.
Go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
Verify that you've done this properly by clicking the dropdown-arrow next to the Full Path of File to Delete field. The filenames you pasted will be found in there.
Select/tick the following:
* Delete on Reboot
* End Explorer Shell While Killing File
* Unregister.dll Before Deleting" if it's not grayed out.
Click the RED X button.

Click [Yes] at the 'Delete on Reboot' prompt. Click [No] at the Pending Operations prompt.

Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist:

McFunSoft Video Solution
vso

Viewpoint Manager
<------ViewMgr.exe is an advertising program by Viewpoint. This process monitors your browsing habits and distributes the data back to the authors.

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each the following and hit 'Fix checked' if it still exists:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

Delete the following folders:

C:\Program Files\McFunSoft Video Solution
C:\Program Files\vso
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint

CleanUp! deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups. If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp!.

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows:
*Click "Options..."
*Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
*Put a check next to the following:
-Empty Recycle Bins
-Temporary Internet Files
-Delete Cookies
-Delete Prefetch files
-[X]Scan local drives for temporary files (Please uncheck this option)
-Cleanup! All Users
Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program. Reboot/logoff when prompted.

Reboot into Normal Mode. Run another scan with Panda and post it here along with a new HijackThis log. How is your system running now?

Delete this file - C:\WINDOWS\pcconfig.dat

Since you're still getting pop-ups after the initial clean up, we'll need to take a deeper look into your system..

Download SilentRunners.vbs - Right click & choose Save As... SilentRunners.vbs

Before proceeding, disable any anti-virus or anti-spyware programs that may block/disable scripts
Double-click SilentRunners.vbs to run it. This will take a few minutes.
When it's done, you'll receive the prompt "All Done!". It will create a file called "Startup Programs". Post ALL its contents here in your next reply.

Download StartDreck

Unzip to its own folder and start the program:
Press 'Config'
Press 'mark all'

Uncheck the following boxes only:
System/Running Process -> List Modules
System/Drivers -> NT Services
System/Drivers -> NT Kernel- and FS-drivers
Press 'OK'

Press 'Save' and select the location to save the log file (default is the same folder as the application)

Go to HijackThis> Config> Misc Tools
Checkmark/tick 'list also minor sections (full)'
Click the 'Generate StartupList log' button
Post the log in your next reply

Let me know which website you were visiting when the pop ups occured. Also try to describe what type of pop ups you're receiving

Here you go

Well the popups are coming but not as often. They are about gambling, shopping, viruses, different windows programs, and stuff. They come pretty much everytime but not as often.
Here are the logs and such you asked for.
