This dvd player came with my Dell XPS 9000 desktop. It works fine sometimes but will not recognize or play some of my cd's that are 10 years old or so. When talking to Dell they tell me if will play some cd's it should play them all. They say there is something wrong with the cd's, but the cd's play on my laptop and my other desktop. Is there a fix or an update that will fix this problem?

Dell System Desktop Purchased 11/12/09. Nothing but trouble since. Dell is no help despite me buying every extra in-home warranty package. Try talking to every country in Asia about it!

Tell them it should work, but it isn't, so you want a free replacement drive or a full refund on your new computer and compensation for wasting your time.

Your CDs work on other computers, so they are not faulty. Sounds like a faulty or misaligned laser.
