"Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer."

I get this message when trying to play dvds on my laptop. I have downloaded the latest version of wmp 10, however the message still appears. All other programs are updated and running as they should be.

I need to download something i guess, but i dont know what.

Please help!

Thanks in advance

You don't have a DVD decoder installed. You can't play DVDs without one. You will have to purchase one because it is not legal to download any so-called "free" ones due to licensing fees.

You can purchase DVD XPack from Intervideo. It's one of the more popular decoders and it is cheap. It's also Microsoft approved.
