Yes you need a dvd decoder installed. What is the make of your DVD player? Did it come with software?

"Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer."
I get this message when trying to play dvds on my laptop. I have downloaded the latest version of wmp 10, however the message still appears. All other programs are updated and running as they should be.
I need to download something i guess, but i dont know what.
