Okay, anyone know anything about this particular video capture card?


It's frustrating - very frustrating. It won't let me use a third party codec for capture and won't let me capture at the advertised size of 640 x 480 in either Studio 7 or Virtualdub.

I have to capture at the "TV Cropped" size of 608 x 464 unless I want to lose about 90% of frames.

Making 480 x 480 SVCDs doesn't work real well when your original capture width is only 464 - kinda kills the quality.


ANYHOW, my system:

Celeron II 1 ghz oc'd to 1.25 ghz
PNY GEForce3 ti200 OC'd to 220/500 mhz core/clock
ASUS TUSL2-C Mobo
Intel 815 EP Chipset
512mb PC133 SDRAM
SB Live! 5.1 sound
WD 60 GB 7200 RPM HD
Pinnacle DC10+ Video Capture
... and some other stuff that's the same as everyone else's
Running Windows 98se for the time being

Here is the emabrissing mistake i make.....bought A digital camera but for some stupid (and expensive) reason I thought I had an analog camera....so my capture card was usless....got pissed bought firewire and it works AWSOME....adaptec makes a firewire kit that works beyond great.....

also Maxtor but since I resell Adaptec I steer you that way

Oh yeah, I'm not capturing from firewire. s-video for the digital cable and composite from vhs.

GET the fire wire.....if the camers fits it....

If not go to Pinnacle support site...they are VERY prompt and helpful....

unless you do something stupid like buy and analog card for a digital camera....

pinnacle plus others capture card

Got tha same problem
Have fitted an Asus V6600 deluxe capture card (analogue svhs etc)
Can i eckers get it to work wit h pinnacle studio and tha t little pinn addon amcap - accordinf to te fram dropouts i shouldny have a pictr
at all
If you get anything to work it would apear to record as an avi file
then encode (hope you have big 't'pot)

So i'm looking for drivers that identify asus within pinnnacle tudio BUT I dont hink they are out there

Unless anyove can advise otherwisw

Oh forgot to mntion - readinf the pinnacle studio v8 pdf file it would infer that innacle only orks with their own capture cards

Supose that saves them a lot of hassle

Another problem with Pinnacle..help me solving this..

I have a problem with my Pinnacle Liuquid edition 5..
I had digitized many dvd cassetes and even vhs in it...
last week when i was digitizing a cassette my system rebooted due to power failure..
that day i had continued the digitizing..
yestreday,i tried digitizing my vhs..it stops at every 2 minutes...i tried a dvdv cassete, it worked..
but today i find the same problem(digitize stopping at 2 mins.)..
I have got a problem in booting yestreday.. whn i start my computer it said

"Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
<windoes 2000 root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
Please reinstall a copy of the above file"

i rebooted it.. it went in.. no probs..but my system has slowed down..(my sys capacity is 80 gb..my ram is 1 gb)..
i have a urgent work to do in this.. plz help me in solving this..
