Hi! I made a boo boo just now: I did not know how to open a "php" file, and tried with notepad, which opened it, but unfortunately the"always open this type of file was clicked; then I tried fixing it by opening it with firefox - same thing happened.

Now, all the files on my HD (obviously) are like this, and kinda messed up!

I need to undo this mess - hope someone can explain in words of two syllables or less as I am not too clued up!

Thanks!

Hi Ozra,

Worry not - We can help!

Click START and then click MY COMPUTER to open Windows Explorer.

Click the TOOLS menu, select FOLDER OPTIONS and then click the FILE TYPES tab.

Scroll down the file type list and find the PHP file extension. Click on it to select it.

Click the DELETE button, and then YES to confirm.

This will remove the link between the extension (PHP) and the associated program (Notepad).
