PCIe 2.0 card on PCIe 1.0 mobo

Hi,

I have a Foxconn nForce 4 mobo PCIe 1.0 slot with a new Evga 8800GS Superclocked version running on it. It installed fine and everything was working fine. One day it showed a physical memory dump error and said it was related to newly installed hardware and that I had to either reinstal software/ make sure hardware was properly connected. I did both many times. Problem still occurs. So Ive been reading that others are having similar issues with this gfx card cuz of 2.0 vs. 1.0 compatibility...

Should I flash the BIOS or not? and how do i do that? do i have to get the flash files for the gfx card or for mobo? I'm totally new to flashing BIOS so need basic instructions.
