PC shutting down.

I have a customers computer with a weird problem i was wondering if anyone else had come across. The PC is a laptop toshiba satelite M305D-S4830. When it came in the customer said that it felt hot and it wont turn on anymore. the pc was getting no power at all so i took it apart to check the connection where the ac adapter goes in because i used that on another computer and it worked. So the connection looked fine and i put it back together and it booted up. It was getting hot so i shut it down and cleaned the fan out with canned air solved the heat problem. then i had it on and i moved the screen down about half and it shut down completely no power at all to the machine. I finally got it to work again. I found if you unplug the cord that goes to the wall jack into the power brick on the ac adapter and plug it back in it will boot again. But it will shut off again if you move the screen to about halfway closed. Same results if you close it and reset the ac adapter and open it to about halfway. trying to figure out what cables this could be triggering it to lose all power. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks.
