Hello kdawg53188,

Our apologies for the oversight of your thread. We've been overwhelmed with HijackThis logs, and there are only so many of us. Unfortunately, we can't get around to all of them and some inevitably fall through the cracks.

I see nothing in these logs that would account for the issues you've described.

While that registry entry reported by Panda needs to be addressed, you will not see any improvement in system behavior.

Open notepad and copy/paste the entire text in the quote box below: (don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4)

REGEDIT4

[-hkey_classes_root\clsid\{9AFB8248-617F-460d-9366-D71CDEDA3179}]
Save the file as "delete.reg". Make sure to save it with the quotes. Choose to "Save type as - All Files"
It should look like this:

Double click on the delete.reg file and choose Yes to merge/add it to the registry. You may delete the file afterwards.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Now my computer just got the "blue screen of death" that i have heard people call it.
What error code does it report?

Hey, thank you so much for your help, cause my computer is just getting worse and worse. I added the file to the registry, but I have lost the piece of paper that said what the error was. I wrote it down a couple weeks ago and i think i lost it, but it comes up frequently and ill be sure to write it down when i see it next. In the meantime, is there anything else i could possible do because the performance of my computer is horrible. I bet it take probably about 10 min. for it to start up or log on. So I think there has to be something wrong with it but im just not for sure what. Thanks for you help again.

You're welcome.

try invoking Windows File Protection.

Click Start>Run and type in sfc /scannow (there is a space between sfc and /) and let it scan for missing/corrupt files. This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem. If it finds any problems, it will prompt you for the Windows XP Install disc so have it handy.

As the focus of this section is malware removal, you'd be better served discussing system optimization with the folks in Windows XP Support.

What do you think i should do if i dont have my install disk? and about talking to the Windows XP support forum, should i talk to them about my iTunes because something else that is wrong is my iTunes will start skipping and the songs play slow in some parts as i'm trying to play them. Thanks again.

Both of those issues you just mentioned should be discussed with the folks in Windows XP Support.
