cannot get any of my pc games to work on my desktop its the first time i have used my desktop to play any sort of game so i'm not too familiar in how to proceed. (i'm 72 years old and i'm trying to set up my computer for my 7 year old grandson.who is well into gaming.
the games we have bought are second hand and are the FIFA football and the other game is Assassins creed

What is the brand and model of your computer? If it's a standard Dell, Gateway, HP, etc. it's probably not going to be good for gaming. They typically don't have the necessary hardware to play modern games well.

my computer is evesham, desktop,amd athlon processor 3500+ 2.21ghz,512mb of ram,physical address system, computeris six years old

It would help to know what graphics adapter (on-board or discreet) was in the system but given the age and the specs you did supply, that system would not be capable of running other than maybe some really old games.
