password save disabled?

Greetings. I was working on a system today, XP of course, where when the user either logged onto email - Outlook Express, or went to send an email, he was prompted for a password. I checked all through accounts and settings etc. and all the check boxes were checked to save password. It didn't. Is there a security feature that disables password saving?

Any help most appreciated.
