i have a Toshiba laptop, which im trying to install a second OS on, i am currently running vista and wish to install the prebeta of windows 7. i have virtual PC ready to go, i have my ISOs ready to burn.

but, when i try to partition my hard drive (110 GB) i can only make a 5GB partition, windows says i need to disable pagefiles and snapshots. i did that, i can still only create a 5GB partition. the hard drive still has 60GB free on it and i want to create a 30GB partition.

what am i doing wrong and how do i fix it

once windows has partitioned your drive and you install windows on it ........ windows will not do any more worthwhile partition work

you will need to employ a 3rd party application ......... like partition magic

IMHO though dual booting is best left to two hard drives !
